Policy Statement

By contracting Double Helix Tutoring (DHT), you agree to abide by their policies and procedures outlined herein.

RATES

New clientele will be required to pay a non-refundable deposit of $30 prior to securing the first lesson appointment. Our standard rate for new students, except for those seeking EMT / NREMT tutoring, is currently $120 per hour. For sessions lasting less than or longer than one hour, DHT will bill in quarter-hourly increments (eg, if a session lasts for 95 minutes, DHT will bill for 90 minutes / $180; if a session lasts for 100 minutes, DHT will bill for 105 minutes / $210) with a minimum session length of 30 min for online appointments and 60 min for in-person appointments.

TRAVEL

For some in-person appointments, a small travel reimbursement may be required at the discretion of the tutor; this will be confirmed in advance of any session.

INVOICING

Invoices will be sent to all clientele at the end of each month, with an itemized table showing session dates, times, and lengths available upon request. Invoices must be paid in full within 14 days of receipt; if an invoice remains unpaid outside of this period, a late fee of 10% will be added to the bill. DHT accepts a variety of payment methods (cash, check, PayPal, Venmo, Zelle).

PREPAYMENT and PACKAGES

‍ ‍Prepayment for tutoring packages in 12, 24, and 36 hourlong session increments will total $1,300, $2,500, and $3,600 respectively. These rates must be paid in advance and sessions to follow are subject to the same policies as a la carte appointments. These packages are not applicable to EMT / NREMT tutoring.

CANCELLATIONS

Cancellations occurring within a 24-hr window prior to the agreed upon lesson time will be charged in full.
